DAY 2
It is 12pm and I have only just got out of bed. The reason for this? I am feeling ill. I know
it’s the detox, but it is very much interfering with my plans. I have a sore throat, sore ears, and all the
slighter symptoms of a cold. My tongue is covered in white stuff… and I don’t even want to know what it is.I am
shivering and my skin feels sore to the touch. I came out in spots. One would almost be tempted to say ‘go back to
solid foods’ but no, siree, I shall stick it out.
No juices so far as my stomach is feeling as fragile as last night. No exercise yet as even just getting out of bed
is making me nauseous. The only thing that got me out of bed today was the prospect of a picture from my man’s
travels on email. I will have a yoghurt smoothie in a minute and see.
This reminds me of my last year’s attempt at this. I reigned in my back-then boyfriend to do this with me. On day
one, I threw my back out on the rebounder (note to self, don’t rebound with your eyes closed — you are closer to
the edge than you think you are — LFMF). I made our first smothie of the day and within three minutes of finishing
it, my ex was throwing up in the toilet violently. He then spent the rest of the day in bed, while I was making
feeble attempts at exercise. So I shall learn from that — if my body says to stay in bed and have lemon water
only, I need to listen to that. But it is very much frustrating. Also I need to go to the post office to post some
items, and cannot muster the strength at the moment. Even more frustrating! I'll see how I go after the smoothie.
On the upside, I got a text today from Holly the yoga teacher to say she has a course of 10 yoga classes going
really cheap (I mean, really cheap — only 20 quid!) so I went and bought that and will hopefully start sometime
this week or next — I need to decide what I want to do about the Bikram yoga first. But I am rather excited about
this because Holly is really lovely, very sweet, beautiful and with a body I would personally happily kill for.
Hence why I am not calling Holly by her second name on here — she doesn’t need to google herself and find out
that she is not only an instructor but also my eye candy. :)
I will update this post in the evening with the numbers and amounts of water consumed. Yesterday, I only managed
about 3 litres of fluids, so I am aiming higher today.
Right, so I have survived day two somehow — I honestly don’t know how, as it has been pure suffering. Feeling
sick most of the day, no exercise, drinking water but having trouble with smoothies. I managed to have my lunchtime
smoothie with yoghurt which was nice but a bit too much. I went out to post some ebay items and for fresh supplies.
It’s pretty impressive that food for the next two or three days has cost me under £15. I tried to sleep before my
night shift but it proved too stressful so I gave up in the end. I was feeling dizzy and had a fuzzy brain so
panicked towards the beginning of my shift and had a few biscuits and a bit of cheese. Bad idea! My body doesn’t
want biscuits, it wants beetroots and spinach, apparently. Got to work ok but feeling dizzy and sweating my head
off. I can hear my heartbeat in my ears, which is usually a sign of low blood pressure for me. Please please can I
have a good day tomorrow?
In terms of water, I think I have had about 4litres of water plus the smoothies (about another litre). It seems the
water is the only thing keeping me from being sick (I hate being sick, I'll do anything to avoid that, I would never
be able to deal with morning sickness if I ever got pregnant). It is hard to guess exact quantities as I am working
throughout the night (where is the cutoff for day two and the start of day three? Is that midnight or when I wake up
at lunchtime?).
Tomorrow will be the first organisational challenge as I am meeting a friend inthe afternoon and I think we’ll be
going for a meal (well, she will eat and I will drink water while sitting at the same table). However, this is an
exciting day as this particular friend I haven’t seen for over nine years now. Fingers crossed I will feel a bit
more alive tomorrow.
